The Foundation is guided by this principle, respecting and promoting the independence of the older person, but keeping in mind that a care relationship also means supporting the person in need. For those who are cognitively impaired attention is given to non-verbal communication, to create, maintain and develop the relationship of care. The various professionals therefore have the task of promoting and stimulating the right to self-determination of each person.

The opportunity to learn about and participate in organisational decisions that directly affect the use of services is guaranteed . The Foundation involves the elderly and encourages them to take responsibility for their own individualised care plans, informing family members about health goals, thus creating the preconditions for the growth of the relationship between the guest, family members and the Foundation.

Personal information is treated in full compliance with the laws that protect the privacy of individuals.

The Foundation takes seriously both the principle of effectiveness, periodically checking whether the health goals for the guest have been achieved or not, and that of efficiency, constantly checking that the best use of available resources is made for achieving the health goals.
